- FYI, Bain Capital acquired controlling interest in GST in 1993 and loaded it with debt while earning profits...so much debt, that it went belly-up in 2002 & closed its doors in 2003. Additionally employee pensions were underfunded by some $44 million bucks.

What the entire planet leads is the end of the dominance of the Republican Party, the Tea Party, their trained media baboons, the notorious, destructive Koch brothers, the Supreme Court miscreants, justices Scalia and Thomas, who have given the Military-Industrial-Complex and other corporations control of the United States. Does anyone with a smidgen of common sense think the US Congress is capable, let alone willing, to withstand the unlimited donations of the Corporations? It was ustices Scalia's and Thomas's votes that, in effect, ended democracy. Now the country is guaranteed to continue endless wars and start others, recruiting further generations of terrorists.

I am not familiar with Newsvine and it has taken me this long to figure out how to respond to your request. I am impressed by your list of interest. I would like to become more politically active myself but, where to start....... My brother has run locally for office but has not been elected to any office. We live in close proximity but not in the same town. So I cannot vote for him.
I thought I would have free time on my hands when I retired last May. But, I have become the Nana extraordinaire. I love having more time with my grand children but they take a toll on Nana.
It is nice to finally contact you. I am an avid Keith Olbermann and Rachael Maddow fan, as well.
